I have been a lifelong resident of the Texico/Farwell area. I grew up and graduated from Texico high school. After graduation I attended ENMU in Portales and graduated with a major in physical education with minors in biology and social studies. In 1997 I received my Masters in sport administration.

This year marks my 29th year in education. I began teaching in 1991 at Gattis Jr. High school in Clovis. I taught life science there for seven years. I began teaching in Texico in 1998 and remained there until my retirement in 2017. While there, I taught a variety of subjects ranging from JH science, HS biology, HS anatomy/physiology, driver's ed., US history, NM history and PE. I have also coached for 28 years. I have coached both JH and HS football, basketball, track and baseball.

After retiring from the New Mexico education system, I taught for one year in Dimmitt, TX where I taught high school physics and world history. In 2018 I was offered a job in Farwell where I teach junior high science.

My wife, Pam and I have been married for 29 yrs. and have two sons. Connor is a pharmacist in Roswell, NM and Gentry is attending Arizona Christian University, playing baseball and pursuing a degree in education. Pam is in her 32nd year of teaching.
