Chess Club will start on August 22, 2017.  We will meet every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week at 7:20 a.m. in room #106.  Any student who has an interest in learning how to play chess or would like to sharpen their chess skills can participate!

This year, I have the privilege of teaching Eighth Grade English.  It is wonderful to be back in the field of imagination and the written word!  Eighth Grade English is designed to involve the student in applying reading, writing, listening, speaking, and viewing skills in an independent manner through meaningful interdisciplinary tasks. Students will continue to develop an appreciation for literature through the study of literary elements in classic and contemporary selections. Emphasis is placed on moving from the literal to the abstract in the students’ critical thinking skills and in the use of language.  My goal is to teach students how to put their ideas, their thoughts, their imagination onto paper so that their words can be celebrated by them or an audience.  Writing is a beautiful art form.

  • I have two wonderful sons-Blake, 26 and Chance, 24.   Blake is engaged to Laci, so we will have another beautiful human joining our family soon.
  • My herd of puppies includes Haswell Pendleton II, Henry, and Buddy.  I have one cat named William Wallace.
  • I graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in 1988 with a Major in Elementary Education and a Minor in English.  I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Counseling at ENMU.
