I was born in Texarkana, Texas, and lived there most of my life. I relocated to West Texas two years ago and have settled in Farwell. My husband and I both work for the school district on different campuses and live close by. We love this town and plan on retiring here.
We have two grown daughters, Shanelle and Shana. Shanelle resides in Los Angeles, California, and Shana resides in Houston, Texas. We have a son, Gairen, who will be a junior in high school this year in Iowa Park, Texas. We have four pets including a Chihuahua named Chichi, twin cats named Sophie and Sadie, and a Siamese named Sushi. They are our babies.
I graduated from A&M University in Texarkana in 1993 with a Bachelor's of Science of Interdisciplinary Studies. I earned a Master's Degree in Education Administration in 2006 from A&M as well. In 2011 I earned a superintendent certification, and in 2015 I earned a school counselor certification. My educator certifications include 1-8 self contained, 1-8 English, 4-8 reading and English, 4-8 science, EC-12 counselor, principal, and superintendent.
In my spare time, I enjoy gardening and cooking. I love canning tomatoes in the summer and enjoying watching my flowers grow and bloom. I prefer the outdoors and love the climate here. I'm also an avid reader and often have multiple books being read at the same time. I seem to bounce back from one to the other. On occasion, I enjoy oil painting.
I am very excited and proud to be the junior high science teacher this year! Please feel free to contact me. I look forward to meeting all of you.
